LET'S GO TO THE MOON
K-Adriatica has renewed its partnership with Loops-m, a project that is part of IGLUNA 2021, which sees the collaboration between ENEA - National Agency and Sapienza University of Rome to create a prototype autonomous lunar greenhouse that would help feed astronauts on missions to the Satellite.
The prohibitive environment in which astronauts find themselves during long-duration space missions far from Earth orbit means that food, water and air must be regenerated and recycled to ensure survival.
In this situation, plants become essential to add fresh food to the diet, ensuring a balanced nutritional intake.
Being able to grow fresh vegetables would therefore be the optimal solution for successful missions. This is the aim of the Loops-m project: to create autonomous hydroponic plants, equipped with specific lighting, temperature and humidity control, using products from K-Adriatica's IDROFILL series to ensure the correct development of the plants at different stages.

The IDROFILL line, in fact, has passed all the tests of the ENEA Casaccia Research Centre's Production and Territorial Systems Sustainability Department, thanks to the high quality standards related to the purity of the raw materials used and the careful production process.
With the hydroponics farming plant growth together with its rooting system takes place above the ground, which is replaced by an inert substrate. Water and nutrients are provided by a solution where they scientifically combined to bring all the needed elements to the various developing phases of the crop.
Hydroponics is a technologiy that stems from the application of the most innovative irrigation systems, from the management of controlled climatic factors in a protected environment, but also from a deep knowledge of plant physiology. K-Adriatica proposees the IDROFILL LINE, a blend of the purest low-conductivity salts, which represent an optimal basis for the most sophisticated nutritional programs.
