Optimizing wood lignification and bud maturation with AGROVIT LS: a balanced blend of micronutrients
Lignification is the process by which plant cells deposit lignin in the walls, strengthening woody tissues and increasing resistance to mechanical and climatic stresses. Bud maturation, on the other hand, prepares the plant for flowering and fruiting in the following year. Both processes are critical to ensure vigorous growth and optimal production, and they require the right supply of micronutrients to function properly.
Unlike most formulations suggested at this stage, which are based on massive supplies of single micronutrients, or combination of a few of them, K-Adriatica's strategy, in line with the sustainable approach: “Less is more,” proposes to prepare plants for winter with the balanced and optimized supply of all the micronutrients needed to ensure the proper development of strong woody tissues and mature, ready-to-flower buds. AGROVIT LS, a complete formulation that includes Boron, Copper, Iron, Manganese, Molybdenum and Zinc, in chelated and soluble forms, is the basis of the K-Adriatic strategy to optimize these processes.
Formulated to avoid excess and antagonism, AGROVIT LS provides:
- Boron (B) (0.6%): essential for cell wall synthesis and cell division, it is critical for new bud formation and strengthening of woody tissues.
- Copper (Cu) (0.2%, EDTA chelate): participates in lignification by acting as an enzyme cofactor in lignin synthesis, imparting mechanical strength to woody tissues and stimulating bud maturation.
- Iron (Fe) (0.5%, EDDHA chelate): involved in photosynthesis and energy production, ensuring that buds have sufficient energy reserves for proper development.
- Manganese (Mn) (2.1%, EDTA chelate): cofactor of enzymes involved in lignin synthesis and plant hormone production, critical for proper wood and bud maturation.
- Molybdenum (Mo) (0.2%): involved in nitrate reduction and protein synthesis, essential for bud growth and development.
- Zinc (Zn) (1.5%, EDTA chelate): regulates growth hormone synthesis and promotes lignification, improving bud quality and preventing malformation.
This formulation, at a dose of 1-2 kg per hectare, fully meets the plant's micronutrient requirements, which on average are as follows: Boron: 20-60 ppm; Copper: 5-20 ppm; Iron: 50-100 ppm; Manganese: 20-100 ppm; Molybdenum: 0.1-5 ppm; Zinc: 20-100 ppm.
AGROVIT LS application, which contains all the necessary micronutrients in optimal proportions, meets the real needs of the plant, avoids nutritional imbalances and improves the physiological response of the plant. Applying less nutrients, but in a more efficient form, is the key to sustainable and effective agricultural management.
saria Stile, of K-Adriatica, continues: "In the near future we will carry out studies on the potential efficacy against kiwi fruit borer, a threat to several Italian production areas."
