NEW ITALIAN POLE OF SUSTAINABLE FERTILIZERS PRODUCTION
We have a new all-Italian pole for an increasingly eco-friendly production of fertilizers.
The merger by incorporation between K-Adriatica SPA and Agroalimentare Sud, which is focused on plant genetic improvement programs, the transformation of distichous barley into malt for brewing, and active in the production of functional foods, has been completed in the last few days.
K-Adriatica with the incorporation of Agroalimentare SUD strengthens its innovative footprint and aims to develop new solutions for an increasingly sustainable agriculture.
CEO Giovanni Toffoli; 'This operation allows us to be a reference point in Italian and global agriculture. The incorporation of Agroalimentare Sud strengthens the know-how required to be at the forefront of research and development of new solutions that result in more efficient use of nutrients by plants and higher levels of resistance to environmental stress. The new research team will be made up of the operational unit in Lodi at the PTP Science Park by food technologists and biotechnologists from the operational unit in Melfi, together with formulators from K-Adriatica. The R&D department thus established will develop new solutions that, in the context of the circular economy, will transform what is today waste from malting production into new and effective nutritional solutions. Modern, sustainable agriculture, which creates added value for farms and produces quality food for consumers, puts technology and innovation at the heart of all processes. We are seeing an increasing use of tools for the targeted and rational use of fertilizers, and this is spurring us on to search for even more efficient solutions that allow maximum results with minimum input."

A further step towards ensuring sustainability at every level of the food chain in which K-Adriatica has been a key player for over 50 years.
